"Vitamin
B12, Folic Acid May Help Improve Memory In Seniors"
The UK's Daily Mail (1/11, Bates) reports
that according to a study published in the American Journal
of Clinical Nutrition, "taking vitamin B12 and folic
acid for two years improves both short and long-term memory" in
seniors. After randomizing 700 seniors ranging in age from
60 to 74 "to take a daily dose of folic acid and vitamin
B12, or placebo pills that resembled the vitamins," researchers
found that "those who took the vitamins showed more,
if modest, improvement in their scores on the memory tasks" than
those taking placebo.
